How Great Thou Art.

Olá Familia!! Bom Dia! Ok, this week was actually pretty chill! And I procrastinated writing this email, so it's not gonna be very long. We had divisions this week! (exchanges) They were great! I went with Sister Fernandes and she made a really yummy vegan lunch. I would have liked a little cheese on top, but it was still super good! She also helped me a lot with my Portuguese! I am pretty good, but I still have SO MUCH to learn! We went out to this far away area that was right next to the ocean! It was already dark and pretty foggy so we could only see the very edge of the ocean with the waves crashing onto the sand. It was loud, the air smelled like salt, and it was so beautiful! We went down to the beach for a few minutes (we hadn't used all our meal time, so we decided it was OK) and we collected some shells and sat on a rock looking at the water. It was so extremely beautiful and I felt overwhelmed by the power and majesty of God's creations. Right then a str...

Mudança é bom

Olá gente! Tudo tranquilo por aí? This week was really different than any other week I have had on my mission....  We moved house. The house we were living in was nice, just very small and cramped, and the water was brown. So when Presidente came up for zone conference he told us we were going to move to the old house of the Elders. (there used to be Elders in Porto, but now there aren't and the house is empty) The new house is bigger and nicer so we were super excited to move! We didn't find out for sure though until Monday afternoon and they wanted to move us on Wednesday. And they are giving the house back to the owners, so we needed to empty it out completely of years and years of missionaries junk and clean it top to bottom. So Tuesday was a weird day where we were doing all we could to balance missionary work and pack! By Wednesday we were basically packed, but the house was not clean. So when the missionary couple showed up we spent a couple hours cleaning ou...

A Bible a Bible

A lot of cool things happened this week! Wow! Ok, we will start with P-day, it was super chill and probably one of my favorites. We met up with our district at our chapel and we just played card games! We played trash and scum and a super fun Brazilian card game called troco. It is pretty complicated, but it was fun! Then we just hung out and talked to family! I love chill pdays like that and we have a really fun district. :) We are teaching some really cool people now too! I already talked about D, our miracle last week, we taught him again this week and once again he understood and loved everything and is super excited for his baptism! Never have I met anyone so prepared! He came to a ward activity on Saturday and to church on Sunday! We taught him a with a member, and that member was super awesome hanging out with him on Sunday! He is progressing really well.  We are also teaching a woman named P. She is super sweet and has a really youthful soul. But I was a l...

Miracle alert!

Ok, I didn't do one of those daily journal things this week (sorry mom!) I totes forgot. But MAN did we see some miracles this week! It was awesome! Starting with the coolest. Ok. You ready? We did a contact several weeks ago on the street, but it was cut awkwardly short because we saw our bus and had to run to try and catch it. We gave him our card and told him to call us. We ended up missing the bus anyway and we were bummed, but the same kid ended up walking past the bus stop, so we decide to finish the contact. We came up and he showed us that he had actually been typing in our number to call us as he was walking! So we got his number and told him we'd get in contact. Then we didn't. We got super busy with tons of appointments every day, and didn't have time to think of much else. Until Saturday. Sister Allred decided to do the thing where we send messages to everyone inviting them to church again. And so she sends one to this young man, and unlike pretty ...
