A Bible a Bible
A lot of cool things happened this week! Wow! Ok, we will start with P-day, it was super chill and probably one of my favorites. We met up with our district at our chapel and we just played card games! We played trash and scum and a super fun Brazilian card game called troco. It is pretty complicated, but it was fun! Then we just hung out and talked to family! I love chill pdays like that and we have a really fun district. :)
We are teaching some really cool people now too! I already talked about D, our miracle last week, we taught him again this week and once again he understood and loved everything and is super excited for his baptism! Never have I met anyone so prepared! He came to a ward activity on Saturday and to church on Sunday! We taught him a with a member, and that member was super awesome hanging out with him on Sunday! He is progressing really well.
We are also teaching a woman named P. She is super sweet and has a really youthful soul. But I was a little doubtful about how interested she truly was. So during our appointment, I asked her what she was expecting or hoping to get from our visits. What were her expectations of visiting with us? And her answer truly proved me wrong. She told us that she felt a lack of something in her life, an empty space, and she believed that the thing that was missing was something spiritual and that she thought maybe we could help her fill it! And we can! We had an awesome conversation after that about the spirit and learning what is true and Sister Allred told her "God loves you." we experienced a tender moment as she began to cry and told us that that same day at work she had thought to herself "I don't think even God likes me" and she said that us telling her that God loved her was an answer to her that God truly was aware of her and loved her. It was super awesome. I think she will really progress well as well.
Brief interruption before I tell one more cool experience from this week! Zone Conference!!!! Woohoo! It was awesome! Presidente got to Porto a day early and interviewed us! It was so awesome to get to talk with him, he is a wonderful, inspired man, I am so grateful he is my mission Presidente! I think there is a lot of truth to the saying that missionaries are called to a mission president more than a place. And the conference was awesome! The night before I was asked to do a musical number so I threw something together really fast, it wasn't awesome, but it went well. And we learned so many cool things by the spirit and did a lot of practices!
OK, back to our regularly planned schedule, do you remember the woman I (maybe) mentioned last week? Who really loves the Bible? Well, this week I was studying A LOT in the Bible to prepare to teach her again and it was such a cool experience for me! My testimony was strengthened both in the Bible as the word of God, and in the restoration of the gospel. The Bible truly speaks of and profesies of the restauration, of Joseph Smith, and of the Book of Mormon. The Book of Mormon and the Bible are so connected and they testify of each other and complement each other beautifully! It was so cool. We taught her and it went well. She is open to hear, but I don't think she is open to really asking or changing. But who knows! There is hope! And either way, I am grateful that met her, even if the only thing that comes from it is the great knowledge and testimony I gained studying the Bible with more purpose.
Anyway, that's all I got to share for today! I love you all and am grateful for the support and love! I know this gospel is true, I know Joseph Smith was called to be a prophet, I know the Bible and the Book of Mormon are the word of God! They work together to teach us about Christ and how to follow Him!
And mom! I got my package!!!! I love it so so much!! 😍❤️📦
