Happy new year!

Wow. I was thinking about I would write about this week, and I totally forgot that Christmas was this week! It goes so fast! Christmas was AWESOME! We ate dinner with members Christmas Eve which was so fun! Christmas day we opened our presents in the morning and had a Christmas party at the church with some of the members who are alone this Christmas. It was a blast! We ate and played card games and most everybody stayed until it was dark out!  And I got to talk to my family! Definitely a highlight. I have not talked to my siblings in what feels like months. We sang together, and though the phone connection wasn't great, I felt so close in that moment to them (to you!) It was a special moment for me. That night we ate dinner with another member! Her daughter is preparing to go on her mission to Madrid, so we got to give her some advice on what to pack and what to expect. It was fun!  The rest of the week was normal. Because of the holidays we didn't have ma...

The road less traveled

Hello everyone! MERRY CHRISTMAS! (almost) not a lot happened this week, but I will tell you what did! Beginning of the week we set aside time to visit a member and one of our member's ex husband in the hospital. Both hospitals were a little far away and out of our area, so we got permission and headed over to the first one but we get there and no one knows where our friend is! Finally, someone tells us that she was already sent home. (she was in church yesterday too! She had back surgery twice and then she just comes walking into church!) the next day we head over to the other much bigger hospital. All we have is a little slip of paper with the guys name on it. Some kind people help us find out where to go, but then it turns out he had already gone home too! So we visit two hospitals to no avail 😂  We did a lot of knocking doors this week and our zone had set a goal to do 600 contacts! In the end we did well over 600 as a zone! Woohoo! It was cool. Then Saturday morn...

Transfers!

New transfer!! I love Sister Darnell! She is awesome!  The beginning of this week was pretty normal. We taught some lessons, did some contacts, got ready for transfers, cleaned our house. Then Wednesday we took the three hour train down to Lisbon! I took a little nap and then looked at the scenery. Honestly, Portugal is STUNNING it is so beautiful! The natural landscape as much as the cute old buildings and streets. I love this country! At transfers I saw Sister Crowder! It was a happy reunion, and it was so fun to see some of my other friends and I got to say goodbye to Presidente which was sad, but I am happy for him. Then there was the rush and scramble as the packages arrived and then another rush and scramble to get our tickets and get all of our bags onto the train! But soon we were back in Porto. The train had gone really slow on the way back for some reason so by the time we got back to our house there was only half an hour before we would need to be inside anyway so we j...

Bênçãos

Olaaaa! Tudo beeeeem? OK this week, I don't have a lot to tell, but what I have is super cool! #1 Denzel was baptized!!! It is kind of a joke between missionaries that something always goes wrong while preparing for a baptism. But for us, everything went remarkably smooth! He was there early, Bishop couldn't come but the Elders Quorum President was there, an irmã brought food for after, there was a good turn out and the meeting was beautiful! The only problem was that I was sick and right before the baptism started I was in the bathroom puking my guts out! Lol! It was pretty funny actually! But besides that it was great and I still sang a musical number! Denzel was so happy! And the next day after his confirmation he was glowing! He is excited to go to institute this week, and he already has an interview with Bishop to get the priesthood! I am so proud of him! #2 Transfers!! Sister Allred is leaving, but we have known that for a while. I will be staying and servin...
