Eu gosto de ver o Templo.

Image
Ola family! I hope everyone is doing well! I don't have a ton to share from this week, we did the same thing every day, but it was a wonderful week! We spent the whole week in Lisbon at the temple open house! Us sisters stayed in the capela and when groups came in we would give them some instructions and then show a brief video about temples and send them off! Then we would stand there and wait for another group! It was really chill, especially during the week when there wasn't really a constant flow of visitors, we spent a lot of time waiting and some people even got to go through the temple in little groups of 2 or 3! Lucky them! We watched that video about a billion times and had parts of it memorized even! We did get to watch it in a few different languages though which was really cool! Personally I watched it in Portuguese (obvs), spanish, german, italian, french, and mandarin! Though the itialian one we didn't watch with a group, we just watched it as we wer...

Group Email

Olá!! I don't know if this email will be long or short, I don't have much planned to talk about. The beginning of this week started off with exchanges with the sisters in Coimbra. They were really fun, it's always fun to see other areas! Then we got a day or two to work in our own area and then we were off to Lisbon! We took a good 2 hour bus ride down followed by some metro madness, and finally arrived in Moscavide, the area of the temple! We woke up extra early the next day and got to walk through the temple!!! It is STUNNING! I have visited a good amount of temples, and it never ceases to amaze me! In the Lisbon Temple there is a symbol of a compass all over. On the ceilings, windows, carpets and furniture. It is meant to honor the history of Portugal as navigators, and how the gospel will be taken to all the world. It's so cool! After our tour we hopped on a train to get to another chapel in another area where we had a real quick version of conference (lea...

Group Email

Oi pessoal! Kkkk! (haha but in portuguese) Nós dormimos, comemos, e fiz "crafts" foi mesmo muito bom, e exatamente o que nós precisávamos. Ok. Now I'll write in English. Lol.   So we had leadership conference this week which meant we got to go down to Lisboa! Woot Woot! It was a two hour bus ride and then some metro hopping, and we were there! We had some medical appointments first for my colega and we experienced an actual miracle! We managed to find the first clinic and were trying to figure out all the paperwork and these two women show up and tell us that they are from the insurance company and are here to help us get from appointment to appointment and they will take care o...

Beautiful Leiria

Image
So, Leiria is the most perfectly wonderful town in the world. I just wanted to let you all know. I think this place might actually be perfect. Ok. So it is a hot spot for families and there is this gorgeous park and you walk through it and there are just families playing around on all sides. But it is also Europe, so you can't forget that this park is full of really old beautiful sculptures and water features. There is also cute little river with fun, cute bridges going across it. Parts of it actually remind me of river front park in Spokane actually (we all know Spokane is actually the most perfect place in the world, Leiria is awesome, but Spokane has a special place in my heart). It is less poor and less racially diverse than Barreiro, and the people aren't quite as open, but we are still finding success! We are doing a whitewash, but the elders left us a giant list of the people they are working with and they even have someone who is marked for baptism! It hasn't f...
