The Last Melon
Well. We have arrived. Houston, prepare for landing. The last week. I probs won't write next week, so this is the last email. I don't have much to say. We worked hard this week. We had to stay inside a little to take care of Sister Noble, she is feeling a lot better though which is awesome! So we didn't have a lot of time, but we managed to teach 10 less actives!! And we found a super solid new person to teach! His name is André and he was taught in the past, but he didn't want to be baptised. But he is super open to hear and talking to him it seemed he just hadn't understood the invitation to be baptised. He wants to come to church next week and we will meet with him tonight to see if he read the book of Mormon!
We did get some sad news though yesterday. When we fly over to the continente for me to go home, sister Noble will stay on the continente as well. There is a sister who is going home earlier than expected, and she will be taking her spot. So Ponta Delgada will be without missionaries for 3 weeks, or maybe more depending on the Corona virus. Everyone is really freaking out about it. We can't even give hugs or Beijinhos or even shake peoples hands anymore! That was a sad rule to hear especially since I am saying goodbye! But I trust my leaders and I will do what they say!
I know that this gospel is true! It is a gospel of change and of hope! Many times in the Bible God accuses the Israelites of being a "backsliding" people. Lets not be a backsliding people! When we make changes, let them stick! That is something I have been thinking about a lot lately as I prepare to return home. I have made changes here on the mission. I am still not who I want to be, but I am getting closer. I don't want to love backwards though. I am so grateful for my savior and his strengthening power that helps me every day to try my best. I love the book of Mormon and I know it is true!!
Love
