15+ hours in the hospital: a saga

So I started writing a different group email, but I had only gotten to Wednesday and it was already about the length of Alma, so I decided to start over and do a more abbreviated version. We had an eventful week! We started the week off strong spending 15+ hours in the hallway of a Portuguese hospital. Sister Noble had been having intense abdominal pain for over a week (she only told me on Sunday though) so finally we convinced her to go the hospital. They poked and prodded her, ignored us for a few hours and filled her with drugs, they even did an x ray (I was doing a lot of the talking because she was in too much pain to try and understand medical terms in Portuguese, and it took me a minute to find out what they were saying. X-ray in Portuguese is pronounced "hi-o sheeze") but they couldn't find anything so they found a bed for her and we spent the night. She slept for about 3 hours and I paced our hallway and slept for maybe 30 minutes in one of the little wood chairs in our hallway. In they morning they did more tests and all they could find was an oddly shaped Gall bladder so they prescribed her some pain killers and sent us on our way. After that we had some lunch at the carters and we went home and slept. We slept all afternoon and all night!

Wednesday was a day of rest for poor sister Noble. She wasn't feeling better Thursday, but she wanted to go out and work! So we did and we saw unbelievable success in only a few hours! We taught two lessons, found 2 new people to teach and we taught a less active! We felt extremely blessed.

The next day we had district counsel and head out directly after to teach a lesson! They were a sweet couple, but we could tell they weren't completely in their right mind. We taught them and they wanted to come to church! They didn't end up coming, but it was a good experience because Sister Noble and I could see our improvement in teaching together.

Sunday rolled around and after church we went to the Carters house for lunch and we had plans to go with them to a group in Vila Franca, so we stayed there and studied until it was time to go! It was fun, it felt like an afternoon at grandma's and grandpa's house! Stuffed with good food, sitting on a comfy couch reading. Then we went to visit a group of 3 woman. Their city used to have a branch but now it is just them. It was sad too because they all said that once the carters left they wouldn't meet anymore. We tried to talk them out of it, but they were set. It was sad. But hopefully one day there will be a branch there again and they will come back! After that we rushed back to the chapel for the film night. And that was our week! There are a lot more details, this was a much run down version. But it was a good week.

I know God lives! He has a plan for us. Even if it doesn't look the way we think it should or would, we can know that as we continue doing all we can to walk the covenant path, all will be well.

I love you all!
