Tuesday - - highlights of today. We taught an AWESOME lesson! It was so cool! She is a reference from some members in another ward. We had an appointment and stopped by and she was there and ready and happy to see us! We had a wonderful lesson with her. After [we taught] the First Vision I asked if she believed something like that could have happened and she said "yes! I believe that 100%!" and later when I asked her "if you knew the true church of Christ was on the earth, would you go?" and she said "what is the address of your church?" best answer ever! She is awesome and I am so grateful to get the chance to know her. That night we ate with a member, and it was great! I LOVE eating with members! And it was nice too because she understood that we are humans not bottomless pits and didn't make us eat more than a normal human can lol.
Wednesday - today we had Zone Conference. It was just our zone and President wasn't there because we already had that big conference with the whole mission. But it was fun for sure! And I learned some cool things! That took most of the day and then we went out with a member. She doesn't walk well so we went to a neighborhood close by and knocked a few doors and did some contacts because she couldn't go too far. But she was amazing! She was talking to everyone! Getting to know them, asking if they would like to hear a message! We got 3 phone numbers in one hour! It was amazing! But by then she was pretty tired. So she took us to her house and we had dinner together and it was lovely. Her daughter taught me some sign language and now I am even more determined to learn it!
Thursday - - today we worked with a member named M. It was an ordeal trying to find her because we decided to work out closer to where she lives which is like a 40 minute bus ride, and then she was at the wrong bus stop so we walked for a while to try to find her, got lost, and then somehow she found us! She has a car, so from that point on it was easy! We went and taught a lesson to a less active member, and it was rather sad because he had been less active since he was a kid and he didn't even know that God was his father, or that Christ died for his sins individually. He didn't seem quite ready to believe it all right then either, so we decided to have him start with phase one, read the Book of Mormon. It was a good lesson though and M was a great help. Afterwards she wanted to take us to talk to her ex husband. So we went and we tried talking to him but then they started yelling at each other and it was really awkward. We used all of our best missionary skills to try to get out of there fast, but it still took a hot minute. After that she wanted to knock doors so we took her to do that and she loved it! She was really awesome at talking to people and telling them that talking to the missionaries had changed her life, and maybe it could change their lives too. We didn't really glean any fruits, but she was ecstatic! She was so excited and now she wants to go out working with us every week! Then she took us to her moms house to use the bathroom and her mom was really nice and let us in and gave us food and fruit to take home, and invited us back. We left and M started freaking out because she said her mom HATES the church, and would normally never let the missoinaries in her house! It was so cool! Hearts are softening all around.
Friday - Today we had interviews with President! He asked us to provide lunch for us and him so we brought stuff to make wraps because we didn't want to go overboard, we felt like he might appreciate something simple, and it turned out awesome! Then we had our interviews and then presidente challenged one of the elders to a game of ping pong! It was super intense! By the end of threee hight speed games they were both breathing hard and had sweat literally streaming down their faces. It was so fun to see presidente having fun and being silly like that! He reminds me a lot of dad. Serious when he needs to be serious, gives great advise, and is silly whenever he gets an opportunity! It took longer than we thought though so afterward we did our studies and left to pass by some people, but no one was home. In the end we went home to call people and work on the organization of our area book, and we actually set up several appointments! A good day.
Saturday - Today we taught a sweet girl named S! We taught her with a member who is about her age and it was a great lesson. She was not feeling super great though, so we could tell she was having a little bit of a hard time staying engaged, but she was doing her best! Then we had stake conference, not many people were there, but it was a great meeting. That night we were both pretty tired, but Sister Allred felt really strongly about visiting someone. None of the buses were running right so we ended up walking farther than we thought to get to her and honestly, if the spirit hadn't told us to go I would have suggested passing by someone closer by because it was already pretty late. But we made it, and she was home! We taught a really great lesson and even challenged her to pray about baptism! It was a cool experience seeing the miracles that come when we follow the spirit.
Sunday - Second session of Stake Conference. The morning was a big rush because we went to our chapel first to make sure no one forgot and went to our chapel, and then were almost late getting to the conference, but we made it! We sat next to a less active and the Bishop's family. Afterwards we went to visit two less actives, but both had really hefty travel times required to arrive, so we didn't have time for much else, but it was a good Sunday! We were both tired though and ready for a pday. lol.
