This week


This week was a doozy! Divisions with our STLs, Zone conference, and an unexpected guest! For divisions I stayed here in Barreiro with Sister Moraes, and we had a great time! She went from one division to another without a break and was exhausted and what did we have planned? Knocking doors for 3 hours! She is an incredible missionary and didn't complain once as we walked and walked and knocked and knocked. We slammed through a list of less actives and a list of potentials, scheduled an appointment or two, gave an incredible woman a book of Mormon, and had a lot of fun talking! She is a really obedient hard working missionary, I was grateful to get to spend a day with her! The next morning we got up extra early and got all done up for zone conference! Neither of us knew how to get there, so we had a fun little adventure and managed to still get there about an hour early, so we had breakfast at a cute little Cafe! Ham and cheese sandwiches are a pretty common breakfast here, so that's what we had. Zone conference was amazing! President Fillmore is very inspired and I think he is going at the whole missionary work thing just right. I am so grateful to be a missionary in this mission! I had the opportunity to sing as well at the conference which was really fun! Though its been a minute since I've done something like that so I was a little rusty lol. A cool miracle happened right after zone conference too! We had a dinner planned with a member in the branch who makes food that is truly truly incredible. Like. The best food ever. And we were all so excited! But she calls the elders during conference and tells us that she will not be able to give us dinner that day. We were all pretty upset, but we decided to call a less active who we knew had the day off that day and she invited us over for dinner! We went and she told us that she had had a really hard day and had been praying that we would call or visit, and then we called! She said that God was the one who canceled our other dinner. It was really cool and we had a wonderful visit with her and her husband. God has plans that are bigger than ours, and we ended up eating at the members house yesterday so everything always works out. I am so grateful we listed to the spirit, when we do, something amazing will ALWAYS occur.

My testimony of Christ grows stronger and stronger every day, and I am so grateful for Him and for the atonement He performed for us. I have been thinking and learning a lot about what the atonement means for me personally and as I have done this I can see so clearly the love of the savior for me and the power of His forgiveness.

Have a wonderful week everyone! Remember how much God loves you! Treat yourself to a nice in-depth scripture study, way more rejuvenating that any spa! The book of Mormon is true! Our savior lives and his gospel is on the earth today!

Who was the unexpected guest I alluded to at the beginning? Glad you asked. We had a fun adventure this weekend when I found a persevejo (bed bug) in our house. They are super common here along with fleas. We spent several hours cleaning our house top to bottom after that lol. We are all good now though!

I don't have a lot of time today, we had an awesome pday! So this email might be a bit shorter! Sorry!   Tuesday - we had district counsil of course and then we did our studies. We had an appointment but she canceled so we decided to finish up the last session of general conference! It was so so so good! I loved President Nelson's talk! I now have a goal to memorise the full version of the first vision. I have the missionary part done, just need to do the rest! Then we spent the rest of the day finding. It was one of those days where you knock a ton of doors and they aren't there or don't want anything and you contact people and they ignore you. But we did our part!   Wednesday - We did Divisions in Gaia! We went over there and we got off at the wrong metro stop without knowing and they "weren't there yet" so we bought some cool jewelry from one of those pop up places in tourist spots and took some pics, then they called us and asked wher...

Blitz it

Sorry I didn't send an email last week! We had a crazy pday! We were up early and went to a beautiful place called sete cidades with the sister APs (they flew in Sunday night) then later we got ice cream with President (who flew in on Monday) and that was the end of pday! That night we had 8 sisters in our area! Mega blitz! I went on a division with one of our stls Sister Prado. She is from Ecuador and has the cutest accent when she speaks português! We go home together so it was fun to serve with her for a little bit. The next day we had conference for the island missionaries! I was glad it was separate because the island is truly different than any of the other areas I served in on the continent. After conference I got to go on a division with one of our sister APs Sister Nilson! I love her! She reminds me of Lizzie a lot. Really fun, hard working, faithful, sporty, and beautiful. The final countdown

Starting an email is the hardest part, and no matter how many I have written, they never get any easier. So I guess I'll just jump right in!   Last Monday we had a fun chill pday. We took a bus over to Ribeira grande and ate pizza and went to the beach with the elders. The waves were ENORMOUS! I had dreams about tsunamis that night. Lol.   Tuesday we had the last district counsel of the transfer. We knew elder Miranda was leaving the island after his 4 transfers, so we had a big breakfast all together with French toast bread pudding, juice, and cornbread. Kinda a weird breakfast, but it was yummy! We have had a good time together, and we will miss Elder Miranda, our fearless leader. But Élder Pullan will take his place as our fearless leader this transfer so all is well. And Elder Miranda is off to fearlessly lead a zone.
