New Year, New Missionary!

Happy New Year!!! The library is closed again today so we are emailing over phone again, so no pictures, but I promise I'll spam you next week with pictures! CHRISTMAS WAS SO FUN! Thank you for the presents! I loved them so so much! Thanks to the Midgleys too! And I got another package that I am guessing is from grandma and grandpa but I'm not sure. Thank you! The highlight of the day BY FAR though was talking to all of you! It was so great to see all of your smiling faces! I did not do a very good job of eating healthy this week, but our new years resolution as a companionship is to eat healthy. We started Saturday night sitting on the kitchen floor with a plate of asparagus and a pomegranite... not sure if that is so much better for your body than candy, but we tried! We gave two plates of cookies to our neighbors because every single member we visited for nearly two weeks gave us a plate of cookies, one family put HALF a COSTCO CAKE in a Tupperware for us... so we bought some ice cream to go with it. I promise I will do better though mom. My children deserve a healthy mother. (As I type this i am sitting at a table with a box of donut holes... I'll start tomorrow)
The work in Monroe was SO SLOW over the Christmas season, but as soon as it ended, the work is warming up, even if the weather isn't! We found a family! Every missionaries dream! He was an old potential that the missionaries never followed up on, so months later we decided saw him in the area book and decided to follow up! a his wife answered the door and was so sweet and we set up a time to meet! We have met a few times and they have 4 adorable kids! Their oldest is 9 or 10 and he has so many questions! When we told him Jesus's church was back on the earth he turned to his mom and asked "can we go!" She works Sundays but she said "yes! I'll ask if I can get Sundays off!" E was also so excited to start praykng and reading the Book of Mormon anx pamphlet we gave them! They didn't feel ready to commit to baptism yet, but I can just see them in the temple being sealed together for time and all eternity! Please pray for them! They are my family now too! That is what missionary work is, isn't it. Finding your family!
I finished the Book of Mormon this morning! I know it is true! I encourage EVERYONE to read it! All of it! I am so proud of you and lizzie mom! That is so awesome! I was reading in two different book of Mormons at once, so i am in the middle of Alma in the other copy! I think i might keep a tally of how many times i read it on my mission haha!
Ok, one last thing. The mission this year had a spirit lead goal of 240 would baptized. We were on the edge of our seats this weekend because we hadn't yet reached the goal. In our update email today we learned that there were 12 BAPTISMS this weekend,m aking our total 246! The Lord is so amazing! Our President told us that not one of could have found a single person on our own, the Lord is the author and the finisher of this work! Through faith and diligence, he allows us to be instruments in his hands.
I know the Church is true. This is the gospel of Christ, the gospel of jot, peace and salvation. I will never, and could never deny it. I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I know Christ is mg brother and my savior. I love him. I love all of you so much!

Love,
Sister Hardy
